This week, the infant children were very lucky – they had a PIRATE DAY!
On the morning of Wednesday 9th May, the children (and staff!) arrived at school dressed as the most fearsome pirates anyone has ever seen! (The costumes were amazing – thank you.) After the arrival of their pirate crew-mates, the classes spent the morning creating wonderful pirate themed crafts as well as learning pirate songs, shanties and ditties.
During the afternoon, the excitement levels reached an all time high, as a very special visitor descended upon the school – AL START! Al had been to visit us, earlier in the year, to perform her wonderful show – The Three Excellent Little Pigs, using her knowledge of British Sign Language and her own songs.
With help from the children, Al took us on a ‘Pirate Adventure’ through choppy seas, mermaid lagoon hair salons for a makeover and Octopus birthday parties where we played ‘pass the parcel’ until we eventually reached the treasure! The children were a wonderful audience and all took part when it was their turn, each earning their share of the treasure! They all thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the songs and shouting out those classic panto lines!
Below are a few pictures from the many that were gathered during the show!
In loving memory of Mr Mark Brock.
